Revision Smile Makeover with 26 Minimal-Invasive Porcelain Veneers

This patient came to our clinic with 20 porcelain veneers that had been placed six years ago in another practice. Her main concerns were inflamed and irritated gums, especially around the cervical margins, bulky and asymmetric veneers that did not match her facial proportions, and the loss of natural translucency that created an overall “aged” appearance of the smile. She also reported functional discomfort, particularly during speaking and biting.

During our clinical examination, we identified several issues: over-contoured margins causing chronic gingival inflammation, improper emergence profiles, and disharmony in the midline, buccal corridor, and incisal edge dynamics. There were also visible wear patterns, a lack of proper occlusal guidance, and a noticeable color mismatch that prevented the veneers from integrating naturally with the lips and facial features.

Our treatment plan focused on restoring biology, function, and aesthetics in the most conservative way possible. The old veneers were removed, gingival tissues were allowed to heal and reshaped where necessary, and all teeth were prepared using a minimal-invasive approach. The new smile was designed through a facial-guided digital workflow, improving buccal corridor balance and restoring youthful, natural incisal translucency. We placed 26 new porcelain veneers across the upper and lower arches. The final result delivered healthy pink gums with correct emergence profiles, a thin and natural smile line adapted to her facial aesthetics, balanced occlusion with improved phonetics, and a smile that brings harmony, brightness, and youth to her face.
